Putting our house together has been absolutely so much fun! A HUGE thank you to my Mom and Grandad who rented a moving truck and drove up all our wedding presents as well as tons of donated furniture from Texas at the beginning of September. Y'all are wonderful and we can't thank you enough! We also lucked out because the people who lived in this apartment before we did had recently graduated and decided they wanted an adventure. They bought a taxi company in Hawaii, sold what they could, left what they couldn't, and moved away. They left some great stuff like the little white couch in our room, along with some real treasures that have lovingly found their way back to DI. I really appreciate it though because it has saved me weeks of scouring garage sales. I also found these cute old shutters on Craig's list back in July for only 20 bucks. I was so excited because I had been trying to figure out how to make a headboard for our room and they were perfect! Evan took them apart and painted them for me and I thoroughly enjoy them. We still have some work to do around the house but its slowly coming together and I'll post as we go. Our bedroom is the first room done and I couldn't be happier with it! Now if we could just figure out what to do with the random toilet in our closet...

  1. cute!! i'm jealous that y'all are allowed to paint! One of Cory's favorite parts of our first year was decorating our house.

  2. Love your cute room! And the toilet is festive! :) I can't wait to see the whole place when it's finished as well. LOVE YOU!

  3. oh goodness...your bedroom looks like you've been married for years on a lavish salary, as oppossed to poor college students. you did such a good job putting it together...
