Fall Break
Utah has a lovely little weekend they call UEA break where you are
supposed to go deer "huntin" but... we don't hunt. So we went to
California instead. We miss our family out there and don't get to see
them nearly enough, so a five day weekend was the perfect opportunity!
Richard and Marilyn spoiled us with so may fun activities. One of
the main reasons we went out was so I could get my Apple Hill fix, we
went a couple of years ago and I fell in love with it. It's this
beautiful orchard in the foothills of the Sierra mountains. You drive in
and park between the trees and go in to the festival/farmers market
full of anything and everything apple you could ever dream of. We tried
it all of course. Plus there's an adorable pumpkin patch and a fishing
pond and the weather is straight from heaven. Evan went back the next
day to go golfing with his dad.
They also introduced me to Fairytale Town this time around and I just
couldn't get enough! Its an adorable park in Sacramento with a huge
playground all centered around fairy tales. Winnie the Pooh, Robinhood,
Cinderella, they even have real animals for the three little pigs story
and Mary's little lamb... its just precious. Winston's favorite part was
the Swiss cheese tunnel, he thought it was pretty hysterical to crawl
back and forth inside that thing. Evan is slowly but surely trying to
convince me that Northern California is where we belong, and I have to
say if he can keep producing charming details like Apple Hill and
Fairytale Town, he will succeed.
I don't have pictures of the rest of the trip but we spent lots of time hanging out with family, eating good food, and enjoying no responsibilities. Of course we love going out to visit for the holidays, but there was something about being on vacation over a random weekend that was much more relaxing. Thanks for entertaining us Fox family, we'll be back soon!
I think you may have just convinced me that we belong in Northern California too!
ReplyDelete"huntin" haha. I giggled a little bit out loud when I read that. p.s. Apple Hill sounds like a dream come true. And by dream come true I mean an ideal vacation destination, because you absolutely do not belong in Northern California.
