Trimester 1

Week 4
I woke up and immediately knew I was pregnant.
I took a test and showed Evan the two pink lines.
He said he didn't believe me and left on a bike ride! ha!
I went to the store and bought a digital test and retook it once he was home.
This time is said "PREGNANT" and he was super excited :)

Week 5
I went home to Texas for my mom's birthday and wrapped up some little onsies
I had made for her to open to share the news. One for a boy and one for a girl...we'll see!
Cast your vote.

Week 6
Starving and exhausted all the time. Eating as much as Evan and he thoroughly enjoys teasing me.
Also really irrationally angry when I don't eat. Evan says, "Now you know how I feel all the time!" Glad I'm not a boy.

Week 7
Evan's whole family came to Utah for spring break it was the perfect time to make our announcement.
After Preisthood session Evan passed out tic tacs and asked everyone what else was the same size as the tic tac.
Being in Conference mode and knowing Evan is a seminary teacher,
they all started yelling out things like "Faith!" and "A mustard seed!"
My brother-in-law John guessed right, the size of our baby!

First pregnancy craving:
An Inn n Out burger at 9 o clock at night.

Listen, I don't want to talk about it.

Week 8
First doctors appointment
Kind of anticlimactic, they said it was too early to hear the heartbeat but
that everything looked good.

Posted our blog announcement, I am the WORLD'S WORST secret keeper and I couldn't stand it any longer.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU to everyone for your congratulations and excitement for us!
We are really excited, it still mostly feels unreal but I'm slowly believing we will have a little one before we know it.

Week 9
Finally graduated from the "training bra" section of the lingerie department.
Not competing with seventh graders to find my size: worth every single other pregnancy symptom possible.

Week 10
Second doctors appointment,
Got to hear the heart beat! There's really a baby in there!
Weird.

Week 11
Thought I was getting close to escaping the horrible first trimester pregnancy effects...but no.
At work Friday I was helping change a guy's wound vac (vacuum that sucks out all the dead tissue and helps wounds heal faster, if you are like my husband you probably just threw up but they are really cool). We had finished the dressing change and the patient was joking with me about going to Wendover and taking his wound vac machine gambling. I started to feel nauseated (he wasn't the loveliest smelling individual in the world...) and walked over to the sink. Next thing I know I woke up in a clinic bed two hours later. Apparently I fainted and had been out forever! Needless to say, they sent me home. According to my doctor my heart is getting used to pumping a lot of extra blood. I'll be downing the water from now on!

Week 12
Total weight gain so far: 1.5 lbs and counting.
Probably much more a result of my lack of gym time than actual baby weight but what do ya do.

Week 13
First {kind of fake} Mother's Day!

Teared up singing this today at church:

"Teach me to walk in the light of His love
Teach me to pray to my Father above
Teach me to know of the things that are right
Teach me, teach me, to walk in the light."

Hope I can do that.

That's hanging in the nursery for sure.
