Manners Dinner

I got this funny idea to do a "manners dinner" inspired by Mario Kart. We reviewed table manners several nights in a row before the dinner and did some role plays even popping the balloons when someone used bad manners. Then at the official dinner I tied three balloons to the back of everyone's chair and every time they used bad manners we popped a balloon. At the end of the dinner if you had one balloon left you got a scoop of ice cream, and each additional balloon you had left earned you toppings for your ice cream. We're just working on SUPER simple manners like... use silverware and not you hands. They were pretty traumatized by the balloon popping so we only popped one of theirs each and went a little easy on them but they loved this tradition and can't wait to do it again.
