We were pretty nervous about driving to CA for Christmas- with the extremely strict Covid-19 restrictions there we didn't know if we would get pulled over or not let across the border for "nonessential" travel. In the end we decided to take the gamble- Evan had the whole break off work without having to use any vacation days and we felt our family there could seriously use the lift in spirits. We didn't do anything fancy- lots of family games and meals and hikes- it was probably my favorite holiday there to date. It was so enjoyable to keep it low key and get creative with our activities to work around restrictions. Highlights included the ridiculous Nacho smorgasbord Brandon envisioned, a day up in the mountains on Uncle Brent's property, Evan getting smoked by his mom over and over in Cover Your Assets, and alllllll the family time.
